No lodge publishes hard wage figures — Whalers Cove states only 'daily rate' for guides and 'commensurate with experience' for senior roles, and aggregator weekly figures for 'Alaska fishing room and board jobs' ($1,663-$2,442/week) are contaminated by captain, guide and chef roles and should not be applied to entry positions. WHAT IS CONFIRMED AND MATTERS: room and board are provided as a benefit, not a deduction — a private room plus three meals a day on the same menu as paying guests, with typical schedules of 7-9 hour shifts and 40-50+ hours a week including overtime, plus tips and a seasonal bonus. Some lodges add a tiered travel benefit earned by returning seasons. Nothing comes out of the check for housing or food. Not reliably sourceable at entry level. The structural advantage is that a 14-18 week season in a place with literally nowhere to spend money converts nearly all gross pay into savings.
