Remote Camp Support (Alaska / North Slope)
NANA Management Services (NMS) and comparable Alaska Native corporation camp-services contractors
Pays you
$15/hr
Most North Slope camp postings say 'Wage DOE' without a published rate; a Nome-based remote janitor posting listed $15/hr and up DOE, and a hospital housekeeper role in the same company was posted at $27/hr, so the band is wide and location-dependent. THE STRUCTURE IS THE VALUE, NOT THE RATE: 3-weeks-on / 3-weeks-off rotation at TWELVE HOURS PER DAY, seven days a week on shift, with HOUSING AND ALL MEALS PROVIDED FREE and camp flights covered. Twelve-hour days seven days a week means roughly 84 hours per week, so overtime past 40 is guaranteed and structural rather than occasional — the effective weekly gross at even a modest base rate is far above what the hourly number suggests. Nothing is deducted for room or board. Not directly sourced, but the arithmetic is favorable: a 3-week rotation of 84-hour weeks with 44 of those hours at time-and-a-half, at zero living cost, banks more per rotation than most full-time entry jobs bank in two months. The off-rotation weeks are unpaid, which is the offsetting factor.
$100–$800 upfront to start
Housekeeping, janitorial, kitchen and camp-attendant work at remote oilfield, mining and industrial camps, typically on a three-weeks-on, three-weeks-off rotation with twelve-hour days. Housing, all meals and flights to camp are covered, so the entire rotation is worked at zero personal expense.
