Carpe Diem Gap Semester (Guatemala & Costa Rica and other routes)
Carpe Diem Education
Costs you
$16,900
Tuition $16,900 for the 2026 70-day (10-week) Guatemala & Costa Rica semester. Tuition covers all food, accommodation, scheduled program activities and international travel insurance. EXCLUDES international airfare, which Carpe Diem itself estimates at $1,200-$1,500, plus personal spending money, passport and any visa fees. Realistic all-in cost is therefore about $18,100-$18,400, not $16,900. Deposit amount is not published on the program page; request it in writing before applying. Other routes are priced separately and the 8-week Italy & Greece and 5-week Guatemala summer options cost less. Need-based scholarships and payment plans are offered; Carpe Diem does not publish typical award sizes, so ask for the median award before assuming aid will close the gap. 529 plans can be applied when college credit is taken.
