Pays you
$100–$500/mo
Most member programs provide a modest monthly living stipend for personal expenses on top of full room and board - commonly in the range of roughly $100-$500 per month depending on the program and location, though individual programs vary and some fall outside this band. The stipend is explicitly designed for simple living, not as a wage, and will not build savings. The substantive economic value is in the housing and food, not the cash. Many programs additionally arrange student loan DEFERMENT for the service year, and some offer education awards or loan-repayment assistance on completion.
