Pays you
Amount varies
Paid in Hungarian forint on the same public pay scale as local Hungarian teachers - CETP does not publish a figure. Third-party TEFL sites estimate roughly EUR 500-700/month net equivalent, which is enough to live on locally but leaves almost no savings. Teaching load is 22-26 contact hours per week. Full Hungarian national health coverage and paid school holidays included.
$2,200–$2,500 upfront to start
Places English speakers as full-time teachers in Hungarian state schools, mostly in small towns, on the same local pay scale as Hungarian teachers with housing and utilities covered by the host school. CETP charges the participant an upfront placement fee even though the school pays a salary.
