STANDOUT VALUE. The 2026 Full Circle Semester is TUITION-FREE - Kroka is covering tuition entirely through donor and foundation support. Families pay only fees, which Kroka guarantees will not exceed $4,000 per person (final figure announced to enrolled families by 1 January). ADDITIONAL: a $2,000 enrollment deposit is required, which functions as a contingency account for unexpected personal expenses during the semester and is REFUNDED to the family on successful completion - so it is a cash-flow requirement, not a true cost. Families must also buy, borrow or make items from the packing list (outdoor gear can run $500-$1,500 if starting from nothing - budget for it). Kroka states it CANNOT offer additional financial aid toward these fees, so the ~$4,000 is a hard floor for the tuition-free semester. Other Kroka semesters use full-cost tuition or donor-supported sliding-scale tuition based on household income; specific dollar amounts for those were not published and must be requested. No airfare needed for the domestic programs; the Ecuador semester will require international airfare, not confirmed as included. Over half of Kroka families receive some form of financial aid. Two tuition pathways exist for standard semesters: full-cost tuition, and donor-supported sliding-scale tuition set by household income. Note the exception: the tuition-free Full Circle Semester carries NO additional aid for its ~$4,000 fee component.
