TWO-PART FEE STRUCTURE - both parts are mandatory. (1) REGISTRATION FEE of $299 for new volunteers ($149 for returning volunteers), paid to Love Volunteers, NON-REFUNDABLE once a placement is confirmed. (2) PROGRAM FEE paid separately and varying widely by destination - example structures include $582 for the first week plus $187 for each subsequent week on self-catered placements, and from $990 for two weeks on other placements such as Cameroon. So a four-week placement is realistically $299 + roughly $1,140 = about $1,440 in fees. Program fees typically cover airport pickup, orientation, accommodation, food, local transport and in-country support staff. EXCLUDES international airfare, travel insurance (normally mandatory), visa costs, vaccinations and personal spending - budget $1,000-$2,000 on top for a mid-length placement. Registration fees, while non-refundable, remain valid indefinitely and are transferable to another program or to a friend or family member, which is a genuinely fair term. No scholarship program. Group and family discounts are available. Affordability comes from the low base price.
